Welcome to the grand experiment.

   Over the years, Hiking-World.com, has seen many visitors, and hopefully we've provided a service to many of you in planning future hikes.

   However, Dave and I don't get out as much as we used to (bad knees, family responsibilities, other hobbies, etc. - you know the excuses!), and we're not adding to this site any longer. This is where you come in. We'd like to invite you to share your experiences with others, much the same way Dave and I have with you thru the years. We've put up this new site, HighSierraHiking.com, to accomplish this.

   How we'll do this will be an evolving process to see what works best. Ideally we'd like to automate the whole process, and after a simple signup allow you to fill out a standard form (a template) with information about your hike (similar to the 'classic hikes' we've put up) as well as upload images.

   If you would be interested in volunteering your experiences, please fill out the form below (even if hikes are duplicated, everyone experiences them differently and has something new to add). At this time, we're just collecting names ( a mailing list). We should be getting this project underway sometime in July 2007. At that time we'll get in touch and tell you how to begin.

   I think we have the potential to make this an awesome site with your help.
